Traditional learning methods are becoming less and less favoured by millennials and Gen-Z. In fact, members of Gen-Z don’t view technology and social media as tools, they are part of life. According to one analysis, going to college is less and less viewed as a goal, while YouTube is a major source of educational content. In looking into the educational research habits of millennials, it was found that only 30% referred to printed books or textbooks and only 25% went to major news sites. On the other hand, 94% use Google.

Aware of these significant transformations on the global environment and scale, Studyum is building a platform to revolutionize the field of learning through an ecosystem of technologies, aiming to support the educational development of the generations. Studyum combines the best of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, facial recognition, 3D avatars, and NFT trading, across numerous fields and brings them together on the blockchain.

All of it in one 3D knowledge matrix with a vision and a purpose of making learning fun again.

Artificial Intelligence

Just a couple of decades ago the idea of artificial intelligence with all the cognitive and behavioural aspects was the realm of science fiction authors, futurists and movie makers. Great examples are Star Wars and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Now, we may not have sentient droids that fight the dark side for us, but in actual fact, we have come a long way. Artificial intelligence is now mainstream and no longer a possibility or even a probability. It is a fact. Using artificial intelligence can help educators and students achieve more out of the learning experience. One important way in which artificial intelligence changes education for the better is by the implementation of increased individualized learning.

With an education system based on AI, Studyum’s platform is tailored to the needs of the student. This puts greater emphasis on certain topics, repeating lessons that students are having trouble with. The system uses machine learning to understand the formats of content that work better for each user based on their behaviour. AI-powered solutions can also provide learning access for all students, anywhere in the world and at any time. 24/7 access makes it easier for students to explore what works for them without depending on an educator for a live session. This allows students to learn at their own pace, reducing the barriers to high-quality education.

Facial Recognition

Another ally of Studyum’s platform is facial recognition technology. Connected to AI, it is a scientific field in its own right. Programs can be designed to spot a wide range of unspoken emotions and expressions. Because of this, an educational platform can assess the emotional levels of students to determine the parts of one lecture that are the most exciting and engaging, or where students’ attention appears to drop. In this way, every unique facial expression can be used by the AI to improve the learning experience.

3D Avatars

In referencing the trends noted above, it was obvious that traditional teaching methods are not preferred by millennials or Gen-Z. At the same time, there is yet a way to improve upon simply recording YouTube videos. And it’s with 3D avatars. Why? It has to do with engagement and motivation.

Sports are considered fun and study (“the old way”) is related to a boring or tiring activity. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Studyum’s platform uses 3D avatars to create an inclusive and thrilling environment. How do you make education more engaging? How about a sports coach as a 3D avatar to add excitement to the already in-depth learning experience? Motivation is a problem for millennial and Gen-Z students. This feature adds an element that will increase their interaction, thus creating a win-win for their education.

NFTfi trading

With Studyum, educators will be able to create and trade personalized photo-holographic NFT crypto collectible cards. Students in turn are rewarded with unique NFTs for their progress. In the platform’s decentralized NFT marketplace, students will be able to swap, stake, and trade. All of those functionalities are meant to boost long-term user engagement and retention, whilst increasing the adoption of Studyum’s utility token (STUD).

Students get rewarded to continue motivating them while they study. As an example, a student watches a 10-minute video lesson and gets rewards. A few hours later, they pass a test and get more rewards. They have a deadline to finish three lessons by the end of the week, and they get it on time to get even more rewards. This breaks a personal record for the student, they get another bonus reward. That student is happy so they refer a few friends, and again get rewards. The next week, they break a community record with most lessons completed, and they get more rewards. They have issues with one of the lessons and give suggestions on how a project could be improved. This gives valuable feedback so that the ecosystem can become better, and it also gives rewards to the student.

Blockchain

After launch, the Studyum platform will develop an interoperability bridge with numerous blockchains as the ecosystem is expanded to supply the educational needs of learners across the world. This will bring the best of the blockchain industry together. Studyum aims to provide the best user experience with security and scalability that’s designed to be successful today and in the future.
